Lavelle Viveiros: Wrong category.
Wilburn Denice: Drilling for oil does not equate to ruining the coastline. Have you ever been to the Gulf Coast? Beautiful water and beaches.
Demetrius Coaster: You waited too long. Had you been treated that night or the next day and documented your injuries, then you might have a chance, but at this point it's just your word that your pain was caused by that fall.
Jorge Detlefs: No. We don't care about enviro wackos sitting in ivory towers telling us to suck it, and pay more at the pump. They say the environment is more important than human lives. And that science is a myth anyways. Bush is saying drill now and have you seen the price of the oil futures? They have plummeted in 3 days. Get a clue....Show more
Stevie Kizziar: sucks you fell and it still hurts. But why do you think they should give you money because you slipped?? Accidents happen.
Lou Rought: If I ever see Ted Kennedy in a Day Glo thong ! I swear I will never vote for another democrat/
Abraham Ladick: Now THERE'S a visual even a Canadian can't stomach! And you know we're tough! Look at the Prime Ministers we've put up with!
Efren Clankscales: Who say that they "WILL" ruin our coastline?I would like to know who in the liberal party wrote it in stone that something bad "has to" happen if we allow drilling whether it's on the lower 48 or on our coastlines?
Elli Esaw: You probably can't. If no incident report was filled out at the time you probably don't have any legal grounds to. Also you would have to be able to show that somehow their negligence cause the fall. However you can probably find a lawyer who would take the case but be prepared to lose money instead of making it.
Karey Dunken: What do you think?
Barton Morfee: So what are the people supposed to do in the meantime? Shall we all starve to death because we can only afford to buy gasoline with our paychecks and nothing els! e? Or maybe we are supposed to freeze to death in the winter b! ecause we can't afford the high cost of heating oils & fuels. While we wait for the alternative approaches to foreign oil dependence most of us will starve, . Obamas "do nothing but wait for something better to come along" approach is highly acceptable to other limosene liberals who don't have to worry about the cost of fuel....Show more
Julieta Suleiman: It would seem so my young radical fanatic, but the platform would not be a true independent but rather a liberal posing as a independent. It would be better just to vote for Nader, because the democratic party is so split right now instead of giving them more options to vote for. But, in fact, we do agree my misguided friend.
Foster Koopmann: i am all for alternative energy, but we have to make do with what we have for now and what we have now is crude just waiting for us to drill for it!!
Chauncey Williama: They already did and Democrats aren't even in charge yet. Last week Bush loved Rumsfeld and Cheney! . Less than 24 hours after the election he fired Rumsfeld without the consent of Cheney. That's a hugh change already;. Wait, there will be more.
Garry Ohmen: I am truly enjoying reading most of the answers. The republicans on Y!A are doing all the whining now!Congratulations, my american brothers and sisters, we have taken back our country! And yes, as stated in previous answers, changes have already started....Show more
Providencia Jalbert: Look, drilling will not ruin the coastline, the high price of crude oil is killing the economy and raising the price of everything. Everyone agrees we need an alternative energy source. But the problem is, HELLO! WE DON'T HAVE ONE YET!!!We need a functioning economy, affordable food prices and commerce to continue until one is found. Remember, even if someone finds an alternative source tomorrow, we will still be dependent on oil until enough of the new source and be made commercially available, vehicles can be modi! fied or replaced, infrastructure put in place, mechanics and technician! s trained and spare parts made available. So, no matter how anxious we are to find an alternative, we are stuck using fuel for at least another decade or two. After that, we can become a huge oil exporter and become wildly rich just like the Saudis.*...Show more
Boris Hadsall: I believe both need to be done.
Ramona Pago:
Melvina Bieri: haha Maybe ol Al could team up with Nader. lol Now, there's a team. After the man/bear/pig thing, I just haven't seen Al the same way as I did. I'm serial.
Elli Esaw: Unfortunatly, we are not ready to vote an independent or a third party for president. Wait until after this next term and it may change.
Esmeralda Pigram: Yes alternative energy, which will not happen in the next 20 years. And just Bushs announcement caused the price of a Barrel to fall close to $10. watch the news sometime.
Romana Stiman: Go to a doctor first and get treated, see if there are any injuries that you need to take care of. The! n call a personal injury attorney in your area. They'll help you figure out whether you have a claim and then help you get compensated for your injury if there are any costs to cover for you.
Billie Bratchett: No proof it will ruin the coastline. Oil platforms around the world. The ocean floor seeps more oil than has resulted from oil platform spills. With higher corporate taxes, who will be motivated to develop the alternative energy. Conservationists hate windmills because they kill birds that fly into them. No nuke. No coal. No oil. How will electricity get generated. No answers....Show more
Jannie Ariola: Lot of changes coming, but you may not like them. Higher taxes. Loss of your rights under the Constitution, and maybe changes to the Constitution. You will see changes like those of the French and Russian revolutions, "takeovers" by the "people". Only differences, no bayonets or guillotines. It may take six years for Americans to come to their s! enses, and a lot of damage will have been done....Show more
Damar! is Weiler: Man, now I gotta scrub me eyeballs with an SOS pad.
Ivan Velazquez: Yes, there will be fundmental changes in the way things are done. There will no longer be a "blank check" for bush.We will not bring the troops home immediately, but minimum wage will be an issue, Stem Cell Research will be a priority, Hopefully, the "wall" will be stopped before it gets built. If the republicans wish to do something about illegal immigrants, they need to build a few hard labor prisons for those that come in for illegal activities such as drugs or guns, instead of sending them back for Mexico to "deal" with.If I go to Mexico and break their laws, do you think that they would just ship me back to the good old US?For those immigrants that come in to work, and pay taxes on their earnings, should be allowed to become citizens.and "Rummy" is OUT!!! Thank God!!!...Show more
Micah Schwarcz: there is not any grant scarcity, so drilling greater won't help. Our cutting-edge pricin! g issues are brought about by way of a team of short sighted playing addicts on the futures marketplace, who foolishly have self belief that the cost of a barrel of oil will continually be larger from sometime to the subsequent. This hypothesis has doubled the cost interior the final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and would not replicate an substantial exchange in the two grant or call for. in actuality no person is getting hosed better than the gas agencies, who have not been in a position to advance their expenses as quickly because of the fact the cost of the crude oil they ought to purchase to make gas. to boot, on line petitions are not properly genuinely worth the paper they are no longer revealed on....Show more
Jackelyn Archut: We already have hundreds of offshore wells which are open right now and our coastlines are fine. Even the threat of approving drilling has caused the price to drop 10 dollars a barrel. Alternative energy is the best for long term solutio! ns but by then the economy will be in much deeper trouble if we don't d! o something now.j...Show more
Michel Mccaulley: You are so wrong. We need oil, we need it yesterday, and we need to develop more alternative energy. It doesn't change the fact that we need oil yesterday. The demand is going to continue to grow as China and India continue to industrialize. DRILL! NOW!You wouldn't even be able to type on your computer without oil. Oil is EVERYTHING! All plastics, all alternative energy, all the hopes and dreams of every person in the world. Get it?...Show more
Lynn Melbourne: You are an idiot. You don't have much in common with the working people who have to drive to their jobs. Are you living off welfare & food stamps & don't have to worry? Yes alternative energy is what we need. BUT WE DON'T HAVE IT YET!!!!!
Cuc Gire: In December I was leaving George's Pizza one night and I had slipped and fallen down their steps outside. I didn't think anything of it at first, but afterwards my leg swelled up terribly and the pa! rt of my leg that I fell on turned dark blue and purple. It hurt to walk and sit for weeks. Even now in April it still hurts when I press on my leg and it acts up sometimes. I wanna sue George's for pain and suffering but I don't really know how to go about doing that.
Marquetta Gimm: these rigs will be hundreds of miles at sea and will substantially reduce oil costs over time. Get into the present day and stop living in the past!!!!!!! We must do this!
Leontine Kreitz: People that say alternative energy won't happen are stupid. It's already being implemented. We've been able to buy hybrids for several years now. There are flex fuel compatible vehicles on the market now, and biodiesel conversion kits have been available for quite a while now too. Public transit should be expanded and improved in a lot of cities too. All of this is just in the transportation sector. Wind, solar, and hydroelectric power are already making HUGE contributions to the energy we u! se. People need to forget about oil and open up to some new ideas. Mo! st of the oil proponents are stupid shut-in hillbillies that just don't have the thinking capacity to think about the alternatives and only see what's available at the gas station in their little podunk redneck town. If they actually took an interest in the alternatives then it would get implemented much quicker. 20 years my asss. Just look at all of the changes people have made to their routines and consumption based on the relatively short time that gas prices have been high. Apparently the almighty dollar is the only thing that motivates them to make a change--it's not like they give a sh!t about the environment. They just accuse everybody that does give a sh!t of being a wacko....Show more
Collin Barter: Last time I checked the Democrats are not in charge. There is actually a balance now, before the republicans controlled everything and were "in charge."
Kiersten Clayburn: Alternative energy huh? let me ask you have you seen what impact the corn industr! y for ethanol has had on the price of food in the world? do you know how much money is spent to convert corn into ethanol and what impact that has on our economy? Yeah you right alternative energy i agree with you but unless it is perfected we will still rely on oil. The best alternative source is nuclear power but i bet you refuse that solution as well
Damaris Weiler: McCain wants drilling AND alternate energy. Alternate energy provides a long term solution, and we won't be seeing that for at least 20 years. Drilling provides a short term solution until the alternate energy is available. It isn't 1 dollar, dear. Do you watch the news? Since Bush lifted the ban off offshore drilling, oil prices have already dropped 11%. Gas is supposed to drop 44 cents in the next week. Obama wants us to suffer until alternate energy is available. McCain wants to do both....Show more
Loriann Carrigan: No.The race in 2000 should not have been close. We had the best economy in Amer! ican history, and we were in a time of peace. If Gore could not win tha! t in a landslide, then something is wrong.Gore is out of the race forever.
Laveta Fathy: I'd love it if he ran. It would ensure a GOP victory.
Oscar Waddups: Ruin the coastline? Are you living 30 years ago? Drilling is GOOD for the environment! We have enough oil to become energy independant. Oil has dropped $17 a barrel just since President Bush lifted the Ban! if sorry Dem Congress would pass it, Oil would drop another $50 A BARREL! NOT ONE DROP WAS SPILLED DURING KATRINA!THINK OF ALL THE GREAT OIL-FIELD JOBS THAT WOULD OPEN UP!YOU SIR, ARE A LIAR!...Show more
Mayola Sylva: national security.
Roni Kurz: Well not in "charge" but you know what I mean.
Ervin Laeger: BS. McCain is the answer. He's not a stupid as Obama and he knows a lot more than Obama he also has more experience than Obama. Onama is an idiot and only a fool would vote for an idiot, liar, racist pig like Oama. There's more oil in America than in all of Saudi. Up till now the ! democrats had it baned from being drilled but NO MORE!...Show more
Jestine Osumi: No, the veto, president bush is in charge he is the commander and chief. three branches of government with equal powers. separate but equal.
Ileen Oshell: and what do we do in the meantime? and when katrina came through the gulf not one drop of oil was spilled and several rigs took direct hits. i guess we tax everybody to pay for the research we need for alternatives? let us be realistic.
Hermina Ketring: Yes, the Democrats now control what bills come to floor in congress.
Elvin Mannheimer: not anything significant.maybe a few new tax hikes and social services, maybe new legislating on the illegal immigration problem but nothing too huge.
Wilbert Shellgren: Alternative Energy is the answer. Whats wrong with electric cars?
Vickie Clampett: Just the visual thought of that makes me want to puke!!!!!! YUK!! al gore is done I hope!!
Pamela Meno: You're bes! t bet is to consult a lawyer in this case.
Jodie Capella: You can! 't go fall and get a incident report and try again
Antone Bual: So what do we do until they finally get some good alternative energy sources?I just returned from the caspian sea, they have extremely strict rules on 0% discharge from the rigs out there, nothing is "ruined". Newer drilling rigs, and new technology makes the rigs of today more environmentally sound than ever before.
Arnulfo Seegars: Painfully obvious. Emphasis on the "painful."
Ollie Desalvo: Absolutely! Goodbye Rumsfeld, goodbye rubber-stamp Congress, goodbye no-bid contracts. Helloooooo Speaker Pelosi, Senator Webb, and a capital full of donkeys! I haven't been this happy since....the Clinton years. :)
Jodie Capella: Because of the amount of time that has gone by since the accident, there is almost no chance of the plea making it to court. Let's say that it does go to court, you or a lawyer would have to explain how they were responsible for you falling. If you have any medical bills! from doctors or therapy sessions, you could use that as proof of your pain and suffering. If you don't have that, then it is also unlikely the ruling would be in your favor. What you should have done right away is gone to the hospital and had your leg checked out. Then called a lawyer to file a subpoena against the owners of the pizzeria. A court date would have been scheduled and you both would explain your case and the judge would most likely decide what is appropriate. I'm sure this is not the response you wanted to hear, and for that, I apologize....Show more
Rickey Vrieze: are you going sit around in the dark for 25 years while alternative energy is being developed?
Kelly Bistodeau: Why invest in developing new energy sources when you can make money the "old" way!The oil companies are making money NOW, who cares about LATER!
Randolph Lozoya: please remember GWB hoodwinked America regarding alternative fuels. He endorsed Ethanol (good) from corn (bad! ). Now that food products have gone up people think that ethanol is the! evil that did it. It's not. Making ethanol from corn is like raising chipmunks for meat. There is the other mindset too, that alternatives are decades away. If the fed would end the hemp prohibition and allow farmers to grow it unhampered then we could grow enough to feed our energy hunger and not displace a single food crop. Add to that the potential revenue that could be derived from weed sales and we could fund a universal health care program without any tax increase....Show more
Tricia Dossous: Drilling off the coast is much more safer than importing it. A oil ship is more likely to cause an oil spill than an oil rig.
Geraldo Mccalla: He said himself its a psychological fix, it will make people feel better.
Sherrill Botting: Gee, thanks for that visual.
Damaris Weiler: I'm pleading the fifth...smile
