David Boehler: I enjoy seeing how happy the couple is, that's my favorite part. As for the rest of it, it doesn't really matter to me, it's just a bunch of fluff. I've only been in two weddings and they were for people that really wanted me in them, so I enjoyed it just because they seemed really happy. However, I would rather not be. BQ: Yes! Hope you have fun at that one!...Show more
Lynn Hollars: You should just have gone to the bachelor's party, Glinder. Where the fun is.Added: Oh, but wait. I did go to a hand-fasting a while ago. It was quite nice. The two brides had their ceremony in a park and there were about 80 guests. In our tradition, the wedding is done is a circle. At one point the Priestess lays down a broom and the couple hold hands and jump over it together (I shall spare you the details, but it is about starting a new life together yadda yadda). When our couple stepped over the broom with too little enthusiasm, the whole crowd booed.! We made them do it again! With gusto this time. After there was a huge picnic barbecue. Much fun.BQ: I do recall you mentioning that yes.Added: Oops. I am told there were only about 80 people there....Show more
Claudio Drullard: I know how you feel about weddings of people you don't really know or care about; it is a tedious waste of time. Now, I do enjoy weddings of people I love, related to or find myself fascinated by. My own wedding was the most nerve wrecking experience of my life, though. I was my own wedding planner, because money was tight then. Besides that, I've managed to get drenched by heaviest to my recollection and quite unexpected rain on my way from hairdressers just a few short hours before the ceremony. I ended up washing my hair and leaving it down for the wedding. Some of the guests drank too much: we all have that crazy relative with a slight drinking problem by his / her own estimation and impossible antisocial behavior that tends to sho! ck everyone else around him / her, when he / she is under infl! uence. In short, weddings are not the most enjoyable entertainment for the bride no matter how it might look to everyone else. However, all the worry goes away, when the love of your life tells you how happy he is now that you finally belong to him....Show more
Evelin Turlich: I have genuinely enjoyed two weddings, I think. I was bored at all of the others, but I disagree that only the brides enjoyed themselves. In one the bride was visibly panicked. In almost all of them some of the attendees did enjoy themselves. Some a little too much... The only wedding where this didn't happen was a Baptist wedding so no alcohol or dancing. I would never have a big wedding because I wouldn't enjoy being in a big wedding....Show more
Walter Scordino: only if I know the couple. Otherwise, free food is nice ;)
Tyree Allenbrand: I have never been to one, so I guess I don't see the appeal. I have heard though that weddings are a blast because everyone gets so hammere! d that there is already talk of divorce between the bride and groom. "I sometimes think, the only person really enjoying themselves is the bride."Is that really true? I ask because I've seen a bit of the show "Bridezillas" and they seem to breathe fire if something doesn't go quite to plan. If that's your definition of fun, then I would hate to know what your idea of a bad time is! *cough*I don't see a ring on your finger, Glinder...*heads to the jewellry store*...Show more
