I must make a board game based on Anne Frank : The Diary of A Young Girl?

Jonathan Schlussel: Could be like monopoly or like ever place you go you can save an amount of Jews or Gypsies or something..Properties could be like the annex or Bergen-Belson

Lourie Mcroberts: You need some 3D gestapo action flip outs on your game board.

Renato Abatiell: Let me get this straight. You are trying to make a board game based on Anne Frank, the young Jewish girl who died of typhus in a Nazi concentration camp? And you have already have some funny trivia and chance cards. It has been a very long time since since I read the book but I don't ever remember it being a comedy. Who exactly is your target audience for this board game? Neo-nazis, fascists, skin heads, KKK? I think I'll pass on giving you any "funny" ideas for your board game.Reply to Bella: I am not sure why you put my name in quotation marks and I will ignore your atrocious grammar. However, I initially thought you were a student but from your comment to me it sounds like you migh! t actually be a teacher. If that is the case, I feel sorry for your students. I read the book nearly 20 years ago and I was probably the same age as your 7th and 8th graders. It was a long time ago but I remember we treated the subject matter respectfully. I am not sure why you feel the need to make sure the students are "having fun" while learning about the holocaust. Indeed they are just kids, but I think 7th and 8th graders are old enough to discuss serious topics like the holocaust without triviaIizing the subject matter. I think you have shown a serious lapse in judgment by trying to create a funny game about something as important as the holocaust. I am Jewish and when I went to school my brother and I were usually the only Jewish kids in the class. Even though we had a lot of Christian friends, we would have felt uncomfortable and ostracized from the rest of the class if we were forced to play a game like the one you are proposing. I think it is offensive and ! extremely disrespectful. Please reconsider your approach to t! eaching this subject for the sake of your students....Show more

Lu Snide: holocaustopoly?instead of going to jail, you go to the gas chamber?

Serena Doak: How about when you roll 1-12 you have to hide from the nazis.Because the long and short of it is ..Thats all that really went on in that boring book.

Emile Okafor: O.K listen "Joe" I am making a board game for grade 7 and 8's and I am trying to get them to learn about the holocaust but still having fun. The only reason they are funny for the kids is because I have tongue twisters and stuff so the kids would have fun. DUH!

Rosalyn Olivera: " I am trying to get them to learn about the holocaust but still having fun"This is the dumbest thing I have heard in a while. Learning about Mass Genocide is not supposed to be "fun".

Ronnie Panas: I'll try to avoid my feelings and get to the point. This is a bad idea. There is no way around it. The holocaust is not 'fun', it's not something 'enjoyable'. ! Anne Frank's diary shouldn't even be read (how would you like it if your personal diary was read by tens of millions of people AFTER YOU DIE), much less sugar coated. Further so, there is no enjoyable way to make a board game around a tragedy. The point of Anne Frank is she 'lost'- she was captured and died; thus, no one can 'win' a game about Anne Frank. Please, if you have any respect for decency, do a different project....Show more

Nicolas Cooley: Anne Frank wrote the diary herself, and it was found after her death. And how could Anne Frank have published it if she was in hiding most of her life.
