Abel Adger: I can't think of any, apart from what you said about the Taliban.
Monty Sieloff: Is it not within each culture to carry a some what biased outlook on women and higher education. Even within western culture, women still tend to fight against discrimination. It's most important to identify the difference with societies which do hold back women from opportunities and those that don't have the resources to provide such opportunities.Taliban does not fit in any category that you listed, they are an extremist group, and most extremist groups, especially those in 3rd world countries hold back everyone not in agreement with their extreme beliefs. Check into "Human rights watch"http://www.hrw.org/women/It will be a best start off.Update:There is no specific list out there, to even conduct a list would require an extensive amount of backup to provide evidence that a certain 'group' is against women and education. To come down to discrimination with education agai! nst the female gender, would need to be isolated from the whole round issue of women oppression. When it comes to religion it's difficult to pin point, especially when it comes to so much diversity including modern vs traditions, in both cases, they can be a misrepresentation of the actual religion....Show more
