Gregg Hagge: Yes very possible...if you bought the car new..and had complete control over the maintenance of it...the more owners...and little knowledge of past maintenance you start running into less miles you can get out of it...and more probability of repairs..
Ricardo Rozelle: I'll keep driving and small repairs on my Camry until Transmission needs to be replaced perhaps. Only has 307,000.
Alise Rutgers: my buddy had a 98 grand prix gt...it had like 280k...then the engine seized up...but as long as it has routine maintenance and if your engine does have problems don't be surprised if you will have to replace it...but it shouldn't cost too much if it is the same as stock engine with maybe 75-100k miles
Ronnie Panas: Not a pontiac, no way. For all the gung-ho pontiac hooters out there, I challenge you to show me a pontiac with 500K on that hasn't had a complete drivetrain overhaul.
Betsey Copp: Yes!and Grand Prix is the best car to do it in as l! ong as you have the 3.8L V6 or 3.8L V6S everything is on your side except the transmission.AM....Show more
Tricia Dossous: 500000 Mile Cars
Stan Conley: It is possible but most of those miles would have to be highway miles.
Coleman Coscia: the most i've seen was 300,000 on a honda. if you did an entire engine clean (tune up, fuel injectors, oil changes, ever kind of fluids changed, and especially trans fluid) it could be possible and if you do put it in the guiness book
Clemmie Burkleo: No, not really. In 500,000 miles, most cars will require 2 or 3 repairs that exceed (by a lot) the value of the car itself. If you could fix it yourself, I'm assuming you wouldn't be asking this question.Unless you drive 100,000 miles per year, I don't see how this affects your college life. Drive 10,000 miles per year instead....Show more
Dewey Heersink: My Uncle had a Dodge Van that the Mileage Meter went all the way back to zero. So if you think 500,000 Mi! les is a lot, you are dead wrong. And of course routine mainte! nance is VERY important.
Emery Blando: Now i am not saying that this is 100% true. but most of the time if u buy a car brand new and u r the ONE and ONLY one to keep up on your maintenace with the vehicle then it can last u a long time(like getting a oil change every 3000 miles and transmission flush every 30,000, air filter etc. and not try to drang race every car on the road and every animal who gets in your way over the years. Years ago when i was a kid my mom brought a brand-new 1989 Mercury Courgar. when she first got it back in 89, the car had 17miles on it. she got rid of the car back in 2002. we were just using it as an extra vehicle, the car was 13years old and still running (but she took good care of it) she had been through 3 other cars since she had brought the Courgar. when my mom gave the car away to our neighbors grandson who wanted to buy the car and do custom work on it. the 13 year old vehicle had 319,889 miles on it. when the neighbors ask what was ! my mom secret. she told them, not saying that this is always the case, but she alway took it back to the manurfacter for everything oil change, engine flush, etc, so eventhough it maybe a little more out of the pocket, in the long run it is well worth it. i have always been told "if u take care of a car it will take care of u". so what my point is it maybe possible to put 500,000 miles on your Pontiac Grand Prix, I am right now renting a 2007 Grand Prix GP. and my experience with this car so far is, it has a strong engine. so if people around u, are saying that this is impossible, then u make this your project, and break the world record of having an AMERICAN VEHICLE with 500,000 miles on it. good luck college kid(smile)...Show more
Esmeralda Pigram: If a car is maintained right and drove right it should see over a million miles. But it will need some hard work like a timing belt changed once or twice in that time. Treat a car well, and it will treat you well. I hav! e had several cars that had well over 200,000 miles and still running v! ery well when traded.
Adam Momaya: I would say at least 300,000 miles for sure. Don't listen to the idiots who say American cars are crap they don't have the slightest clue. They can go ahead and drive their Japanese recycled pop cans. The 3800 engine will last forever.
