Using A LOT of wiper fluid during my winter commute. How do I prevent windshield residue in winter?

Shaquita Wernicki: put in some vinegar in the wash

Stevie Goldey: It is salt. Not really a whole lot you can do about it. As the previous poster mentioned, put vinegar in with your windshield washer fluid. They use is where I work to mop the floors in the winter to remove salt. Buy a couple of gallons of washer fluid and pour out a little bit of it and refill with about a cup of vinegar. Keep the spare gallon of washer fluid/vinegar mix in the car for when you run out while you are on the road. A new set of wiper blades may help too.
