Will I get a ticket if I leave my car parked on the street?

Most officers don't take note of the exact day of the month the registration expires, however, it is possible you could get cited after the 14th. Most police officer I know give some sort of leeway regarding expired registration, whether it be a month or more. But that is entirely up to the discretion of the officer.

Whitley Leopold: I'm a police ! officer in NY. And the person who answered first is correct. Your registration is good through the 14th. On the 15th is when it's actually expired. And he's also right that an officer is not stopping at cars checking their registration. Only if your parked illegally will you even get a ticket.
