David Kuper: Drivers will be the same as current ones you are using in most all cases. Motherboard Mfg site for the chipset drivers, Mfg. sites for any add-on cards.Download them all before the change and burn to CDs.Majority of the drivers will be part of the XP pro CD. Once you have Internet running on the new load, windows can search for newer drivers too.
Theresia Fashaw: depends. some drivers can only be automatically updated by downloading from the net. however, most new os installation also require you to install your ethernet drivers so if you're on dsl, you may not be able to connect to the internet before you install it. the easiest way to install your drivers is to install your motherboard cd. all drivers for all the integrated hardwares are there. add-on cards also have their separate cds. if you don't have them anymore, download them from the manufacturers of your parts an! d burn it into a cd....Show more
Jasper Mangel: No unless the hardware driver supported by microsoft. Easiest way is reconize the motherboard model and search the motherboard maker website and look for the driver there. Usually they can provide Bios update, Graphic driver, Sound driver, USB driver, chipset software and modem driver. Other than that, WinXP can reconize and install the driver such as LAN Controller driver, keyboard, mouse and other PnP hardware.
